This hands-on workshop is the perfect complement to online education and is held annually in Berkeley, CA. 

Our program is designed to provide you with the tools, confidence, and competence to advance your career in Human Factors and Ergonomics (HF/E). Created by experts at the University of California Ergonomics Research & Graduate Training Program and Center for Occupational and Environmental Health, this online program not only delivers training on the latest knowledge and best practices in HF/E, but also provides a deeper dive into advanced topics and graduate level curriculum.

This program will help you understand how to design work tasks, tools, and workstations to minimize cognitive and physical loads, reduce fatigue and injury, and improve productivity. Coursework includes lectures on engineering, design, physiology, anthropometry, biomechanics, public health, statistics, environmental health sciences, exposure and risk assessment, root cause analysis, and more. This is not your typical online certification and requires higher-level competence and performance to succeed.

The Online Ergonomics Program is also mapped to Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics (BCPE) certification skills to help prepare you for CPE certification. Courses can also be used to demonstrate competency and contribute to educational requirements by the Canadian College for the Certification of Professional Ergonomics (CCPE). Independent certifications like those offered by BCPE and CCPE can provide professional credibility, enhance your earning capacity, and give you a competitive advantage in the field, will also maximizing your impact.

Courses in this series are offered on a pass/fail basis for continuing education credit. 45 Contact Hours, or 4.5 CEUs, are available per online class (please see individual course listings for specific accreditation information). All courses are asynchronous, with opportunities for live office hours, group discussions, and consistent instructor feedback. This format allows you to log in and watch lectures and complete readings as your schedule allows, with weekly assignments, discussion prompts, and deadlines to keep you on track.
